SPECTRUM is Waterloo Region's Rainbow Community Space. Our vision is of an inclusive community where all 2SLGBTQ+ individuals are welcomed, celebrated, and supported as their authentic selves. In partnership with Stanley Park Community Centre and Stanley Park Community Association we are pleased to provide a new weekly multi-sport program for 2SLGBTQ+ people at the Stanley Park Community Centre.
The organization is looking for several conveners for a drop-in program who will be tasked with creating a safe and welcoming environment and leading weekly indoor sports activities. The ideal candidates should be individuals with personal experience in the 2SLGBTQ+ community and possess social and group facilitation skills. They should have a genuine interest in people and their stories, excellent emotional intelligence and regulation skills, the ability to create an inclusive space where everyone feels comfortable, and active listening skills, being at ease with listening more than speaking.
